Chief Financial Officer
Dana Ponder is a Certified Public Accountant who has spent a majority of her career specializing in not for profit organizations. A graduate of Stetson University she began her career in banking. She spent several years in Internal Audit and the Trust Department of a multi-billion dollar financial institution and before leaving her career in banking served as the CFO for Southern Bank Group Roswell Georgia. She transitioned to public accounting as an Audit Manager for Brooks, McGinnis & Co . She spent 13 years auditing non-profit clients while she continued to consult and perform accounting services for a select group of her own clients.
In 2014, she became the Director of Finance for Desire Street Ministries’ and was where she streamlined the accounting processes and managed several large rebuilding projects associated with the Hurricane Katrina disaster. In addition, she worked with Desire Street Ministries partners to advise them on the accounting and administrative aspects of not for profit organizations. One of those organizations was Paradise Atlanta Westside. At the end of 2019, Dana joined the Georgia Trust for Historic Preservation as their Director of Finance. In 2020, she also began devoting a portion of her time to PAWKids as their Chief Financial Officer.
Dana and her husband Bill attend Buckhead Church. They have a grown daughter, Adelaide Douglas Ponder. Dana and Bill love animals and give a good home to several dogs and cats.
