Mary Kay Payne retired after 35 years in the IT Industry with General Motors, EDS and HP. After retiring, she began assisting various small businesses in process improvement in Atlanta and was involved in her children’s PTA and Boy Scout troops. Pastor Walter Henegar introduced Mary Kay to LaTonya Gates-Johnston after Gates-Johnston spoke about her new ministry, PAWKids at Atlanta Westside Presbyterian Church, where they both are members. The two began partnering on various projects for PAWKids and have developed a strong friendship over the last seven years.

Mary Kay is happily married with two children.
