Marybeth graduated from the University of Virginia in 1993, and after a brief stint in Houston, she arrived in Atlanta in 1994. After working for two of the country's largest human resources consulting firms, she started her own communications agency, currently known as Chemistry Communications (www.AchieveChemistry.com).

Marybeth and her family moved from suburban Atlanta to Grove Park in 2015 because they felt called to be a part of this wonderful community and raise their younger children outside the suburbs. They live three blocks away from PAWKids and met LaTonya before they even arrived. Through LaTonya and PAWKids she got to know many of the kids and families in the neighborhood and started volunteering at PAWKids, particularly cooking and helping with communications. Before the pandemic, she led a Bible study and cooking club for teen girls, which she hopes to re-start soon!

Marybeth and her husband, Herb, have four boys from age 15 to 25, one cat, and two dogs. When she isn't working, she can generally be found sewing, reading, cooking, walking around the neighborhood, watching sports on TV (especially Atlanta Braves baseball or UVA football/basketball), or still in front of her computer working on her novel or blog.
