OUR COMMUNITY

The Power of Community

PAWKids emerged out of a local need to support neighborhood children. In an effort to restore the community to its fullness, we knew we had to figure out a way to also serve their families. From there, PAWKids created enrichment programs geared towards honoring the worth and dignity of all people, transforming entire generations.

What started as a vision to serve our community continues to grow. Claudia’s House II at Granma’s House is simply beautiful not because of the shelves, supplies, or organization, but because of what it represents: love, dignity, hope, and neighbors caring for neighbors.

Every bag packed, every resource shared, and every family served is a reminder that when a community comes together, lives are changed.

We are grateful for every volunteer, donor, and supporter who helps make this work possible. This is what community looks like.

SUMMER FEED WEEK 1 2026: A HUGE SUCCESS!

Because of the dedication of our staff, volunteers, and community partners, PAWKids and @granmashouse2097 we proudly served:

400 Sack Lunches

100 Meal Boxes

Together, we are making sure families, children, seniors, and neighbors had access to nutritious food all summer long.

A Special Thank You to the members of @northsideatl for lovingly preparing every sack lunch distributed through this effort.

We are grateful to every volunteer, donor, supporter, and community partner who showed up, gave their time, and invested in our community.

On behalf of PAWKids, thank you for your generosity, compassion, and commitment to helping feed children and families across the Westside of Atlanta this summer.

We are deeply grateful for each of you and the role you play in making this work possible:

Together, we are feeding hope, strengthening families, and showing our children that community still matters.

Some people speak into your life in ways that stay with you forever. For me, one of those people was John Perkins.

I had the honor of sitting in his home years ago, listening to his wisdom about faith, justice, and loving your community enough to stay and rebuild it. His words about proximity and serving the neighborhood helped shape the vision that would later become PAWKids.

Dr. Perkins believed that real change happens when people commit to the places others overlook. That truth still guides the work we do today on the Westside.

Grateful for his life, his wisdom, and the seeds he planted in so many of us. RIP Man of God
