A young adult living in Grove Park came to PAWKids with challenges. They have trouble finding meaningful work since they have disabilities and do not drive. They wanted to ease the burden on their family, to be more self-sufficient, and to give back to their community. PAWKids employs this individual part-time and they are now thriving.

A Grove Park neighbor thought they’d be easing into their “golden years” after retiring. While dealing with major health issues, this neighbor was displaced after a house fire. PAWKids helped connect them with resources to stabilize their situation.

LaTonya Gates
LaTonya's passion to see children and their parents empowered and equipped to live fulfilling lives led her to launch PAWKids in 2014. Supported by her family and friends, LaTonya has built holistic children, family, and neighborhood enrichment ministry with the help of so many friends and organizations that have believed in her and her ministry.

Community Based Solutions
A long-time Grove Park neighbor would walk by our campus almost every day not knowing what we provide until a community member informed him of our food pantry. After being welcomed with open arms and getting to know us, he is now a frequent visitor and a part of our community.
For a community to be whole and healthy, it must be based on people's love and concern for each other.
